In 2004, H&M launched its first designer collaboration with Lagerfeld. This unprecedented concept helped to blur the line between high and low fashion. Their success made collaborations with designers an annual part of their fashion calendar, with subsequent collections by Comme des Garçons, Lanvin and Maison Margiela.
